The trade cooperation committee held a joint meeting with finance and economic cooperation committees of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, on Sunday 29 January 2023 - via video call -.

The meeting was headed by Oman - Current Session Chair -  with his excellency Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Kassabi, Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Foreign Trade, H.E. Mohammed bin Abdullah Aljadaan the Minister of Finance, H.E. Dr. Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf, Secretary General of the GCC, and H.E. Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al-Harbi, GCC General Coordinator of Negotiations and Head of the Negotiations Team. In addition, ministers of trade and ministers of finance of GCC countries participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, their excellencies discussed several important topics on the agenda and they reviewed the progress of the free trade negotiations between the GCC countries and the Economic Groups.

As a part of KSA and GCC countries' recognition of their strategic location importance, such negotiations continuing the gulf ecosystem development of trade exchanges with trade partners of GCC countries and keeping the free trade agreement negotiations between Cooperation Council and target countries to enhance economic relations and strategic partnership.

The meeting concluded a briefing of ministerial council resolutions in its (154) preparatory session and a range of topics on enhancing trade, finance, and economic cooperation among GCC countries.
