Foreign Trade Authority Announces the Initiation of an Anti-Dumping Investigation into Imports of Cast Iron Hollow Pipes and Tubes (Ductile Iron pipes) from India
The General Authority for Foreign Trade (GAFT) announced the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation into imports into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of cast iron hollow pipes and tubes (ductile iron pipes), with diameters ranging from 100 mm to 1,000 mm, and technical specifications K9 and C Class up to C40, originating in or exported from the Republic of India.
This decision is issued pursuant to the Trade Remedies Law in International Trade, promulgated on 23 November 2022, which stipulates in Paragraph (1) of Article (4) that the Authority shall be responsible for trade remedy matters, including conducting investigations and reviews and imposing measures in a manner consistent with the Kingdom’s international obligations, particularly the anti-dumping agreement, the agreement on subsidies and countervailing measures, and the safeguards agreement.
Since the issuance of the Law, the Authority has conducted a number of investigations across various industrial sectors, with the aim of protecting domestic industry from injury caused by dumped and subsidized imports, preventing surges in imports, and defending the Kingdom’s exports against trade remedy measures.
For more details and information regarding the investigation, pleas visit the official website of GAFT at (gaft.gov.sa), by accessing the “Announcements and Circulars for Trade Remedy Investigations” page and the “Details of Ongoing Investigations and Reviews” page.
