The Acting Governor of Saudi General Authority for Foreign Trade, Mr. Mohammed Al-Abduljabbar, received the ISO/IEC 27001 certification in Information Security Management, awarded to GAFT’s Cybersecurity Department for its implementation of international standards as part of the ongoing development of the work environment, enhancement of beneficiary experience, and integration with entities in both the public and private sectors.

The ISO 27001 certification is among the most globally recognized standards. It focuses on protecting information and sensitive data within the organization by ensuring the establishment of an integrated Information Security Management System (ISMS) that includes risk assessment, system and data protection, and the establishment of policies to prevent data leakage or cyber intrusions. 

The certification reflects GAFT’s efforts in safeguarding data and ensuring operational continuity, thereby strengthening beneficiary trust and enhancing service quality. It also underscores the importance of reinforcing the reliability of digital systems and services provided to beneficiaries, enhancing readiness to address cybersecurity risks and security challenges, and ensuring the sustainability and integration of operations in line with internationally recognized standards. Moreover, this certification reflects GAFT’s commitment to adopting best practices and international standards, which aligns with one of the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
