​Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority to achieve mutual interests in the Law of Trade Remedies in International Trade and its Executive Regulations. In order to enhance joint cooperation, build effective partnerships, and increase outputs from both sides.

The Memorandum was signed by a representative from GAFT, His Excellency, the General Manager of the General Department of Anti-Dumping and Subsidy Investigations, Mr. Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Tariqi, and a representative from ZATKA, His Excellency, the General Manager of Central Operations, Mr. Zakaria Al-Sudais.

The Memorandum aims to create a general framework to manage and govern relations between both sides while ensuring mutual interests by supporting the implementation of the joint mandated tasks in the Law of Trade Remedies in International Trade and its Executive Regulations. The law seeks to protect the local industry from injuries caused by subsidized and dumped imports, prevent damage caused by an increase in imports, and defend the Kingdom's exports that are subject to Trade Remedies procedures.

 The Memorandum of Cooperation between GAFT and ZATKA comes as a complement to the activation of joint cooperation following the parties' recent exchange of information agreement​.​
