The General Authority of Foreign Trade, represented by the deputyship of trade remedies, held a virtual workshop, on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, in a series of workshops on the trade remedies system in international trade, in cooperation with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones, with the participation of the Sudair Industrial City and the Western Sector Industrial Cities.

The workshop aims to provide an overview of the Authority's role in protecting domestic industry, familiarizing the trade remedies system in international trade, the application effect of trade remedies tools​, the challenges and solutions, the Authority's foregoing on business processing complaints and how confidential data are handled, and the concepts of trade remedies and its role in protecting domestic industry.

The trade remedies system in international trade contributes to protecting domestic industry from damage caused by dumped and subsidized imports, that prevent increasing imports, enhancing the competitiveness of national products, and attracting new investments and industries that contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.​
