His Excellency, Dr. Majed Al-Kassabi Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of GAFT Held a virtual meeting organized by The Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade on Thursday, 28  August 2025. The meeting was attended by the heads of joint Saudi-Foreign business councils and aimed to discuss ways to improve councils’ performance and strength its institutional role and address the challenges they face in achieving their objective and required support.

During the meeting, H.E. emphasized the importance of business councils as the main bridge for enhancing trade and investment cooperation, and for advancing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia international achievements in supporting and empowering the private sector to access foreign markets and fulfill its vital role in strengthening the economy.

The heads of the joint Saudi-Foreign business councils discussed key objectives and priorities, major trade and investment challenges, proposed developmental measures to improve council performance and mechanisms to enhance their economic role, as well as the support requirements that would enable them to fulfill their institutional mandate.

Concluding the meeting, H.E. expressed appreciation to the business councils, highlighting their role as the main channel for boosting trade and investment cooperation and achieving KSA’s international milestones. He further stressed the importance of continuous communication to identify challenges and work toward providing the necessary solutions and facilitation to overcome them.

GAFT seeks to strengthen and maximize KSA’s international trade gains and defend its interests in foreign trade matters and contribute to the growth and development of the national economy.
