The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority for Foreign Trade, will host tomorrow, Thursday, 12 March 2026, the meeting of Arab Ministers of Trade as part of the preparations for the Fourteenth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO), scheduled to be held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from 26 to 29 March 2026.
The agenda of the ministerial meeting, which will be held via videoconference, will be opened by H.E. Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Kassabi, Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade. The meeting will be attended by The General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in addition to representatives from the League of Arab States, the World Trade Organization, and the Islamic Development Bank.
The ministerial meeting aims to coordinate the negotiating positions of the Arab Group and define its priorities toward the World Trade Organization, in a way that enhances the ability of Arab countries to effectively contribute to the discussions of the Fourteenth Ministerial Conference and achieve balanced outcomes that reflect their interests and priorities.
The meeting is also expected to adopt the ministerial statement of the Arab Group, reflecting a shared vision on key issues, including WTO reform, strengthening the development dimension of the multilateral trading system, advancing agricultural negotiations, and ensuring food security.
It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has served as the Coordinator of the Arab Group at the World Trade Organization for eight terms since 2011.
