The General Authority for Foreign Trade (GAFT), represented by the Trade Remedies Agency and the Private Sector Affairs and International Representation Agency, held a virtual workshop today, Monday 8 July 2026, to introduce the Saudi Trade Remedies Law and its Implementing Regulations. The workshop targeted the Kingdom’s petrochemicals sector and was attended by representatives from a number of companies operating in the industry.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the Kingdom’s trade remedies framework, highlight GAFT’s role in protecting domestic industries, explain the impact of applying trade remedies instruments, outline the appropriate mechanisms for addressing injury to domestic industries, and provide guidance on the Authority’s procedures for handling trade remedies complaints, including the treatment of confidential information.

The workshop forms part of a series of awareness initiatives organized by GAFT to promote understanding of its roles and responsibilities, strengthen partnership with the private sector, and enhance the business community’s awareness of international trade regulations and the Kingdom’s trade obligations under international organizations.

It is worth mentioning that GAFT seeks to strengthen and maximize the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s gains from international trade and safeguard its interests in the field of foreign trade, thereby contributing to the growth of the national economy.
