Foreign Trade creates Saudi Trade Attaché in the Republic of South Africa

The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of South Africa, Sultan bin Abdullah Al-Anqari, inaugurated the Saudi Commercial Attache in Johannesburg on Monday, 15 Shawwal 1443 AH, corresponding 16 May 2022, with the participation of the commercial attaché from the General Authority of Foreign Trade, Husam bin Yahya Al-Gharimel, who began his duties.

His excellency, The Governor of the General Authority of Foreign Trade, Abdul Rahman bin Ahmed Al-Harbi, confirmed, according to a statement by the authority today, Tuesday, that the establishment of a commercial attaché in Johannesburg reflects the support of the Saudi wise leadership to expand the scope of cooperation and joint work between the two countries, and to develop the current economic relations and push them to broader horizons.

Al-Harbi has showed that the establishment of the commercial attaché contributes to enhancing Saudi exports and attracting foreign investments to the Kingdom. To enable access to trade and investment opportunities to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

It is worthful to mention that the geographical coverage of the supplement includes the countries of the South and East of the African continent, and the trade volume between Saudi Arabia and South Africa exceeds 18 billion Riyals in 2021.

It is noteworthy that the General Authority of Foreign Trade, represented by the Agency of Private Sector Affairs and International Representation, supervises the commercial attaches that their number currently is 19 commercial attaches.
