Al-Harbi thanks the wise leadership on his appointment as governor of the General Authority of Foreign Trade

​​​ H.E. the Governor of the General Authority of Foreign Trade, Mr. Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al-Harbi​, extended his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to His Highness the Crown Prince on the occasion of the issuance of the royal decree appointing him as Governor of the General Authority of Foreign Trade. H.E. expressed his great thanks and gratitude for this precious royal trust, asking God Almighty that he live up to the expectations of everyone and serve this country and its people in a way that contributes to supporting the Kingdom's external trade. Al-Harbi also expressed his thanks and appreciation to H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Investment and Chairman of the GAFT Board of Directors, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, for his efforts in promoting and enabling foreign trade and overcoming the challenges it faces. It should be noted that the establishment of GAFT aims to enhance the Kingdom's international trade and investment gains, and consolidate its position as a regional and global hub, through negotiating and concluding trade and investment agreements to enable access to the markets targeted for non-oil exports and reduce the obstacles it faces, and to represent the Kingdom in relevant international organizations, especially the World Trade Organization, and follow up on its commitments in international trade agreements and treaties. GAFT will also contribute to enabling the private sector to actively participate in foreign trade, and provide protection for national products from practices harmful to international trade, in addition to providing services and facilities through commercial attaches abroad. The GAFT Board of Directors, headed by the Minister of Trade and Investment, includes representatives from the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Transport, Finance, Environment, Water and Agriculture, Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Economy and Planning, and the Saudi Food & Drug Authority. ​
