Foreign Trade Continues to Strengthen the Kingdom’s International Trade Gains in 2025

GAFT 26 April 2026

The General Authority for Foreign Trade continued to enhance the Kingdom’s international trade gains and protect its interests by expanding international partnerships, implementing trade remedy systems aimed at protecting the local industry, and supporting integration into global value chains, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

In its 2025 Annual Report, the Authority highlighted its key activities and achievements. The Kingdom’s total trade volume in goods and services reached SAR 1.383 billion in 2024. Non-oil exports recorded a growth of 13%, reaching SAR 308 billion, while services exports increased to SAR 235 billion, reflecting a 15% growth compared to the previous year.

On the international level, the Kingdom chaired the WTO General Council for the period 2025-2026, and the commercial attaché contributed to creating 2.221 export opportunities, achieving a growth rate of 17.5% compared to 2024. Meanwhile, investment opportunities recorded a growth tare of 19%, totaling 393 investment opportunities, which confirms the Authority’s role in maximizing the Kingdom’s international trade gains.

In addition, 2025 witnessed the signing of the joint statement to launch negotiations on a free trade agreement between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Malaysia, and continued progress in negotiations with the United Kingdom, the Republic of Türkiye, the republic of Indonesia, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, and Japan. These efforts aim to enable Saudi exports to access global markets, open new markets, and remove barriers facing them.

GAFT’s efforts in the Trade Remedies system during 2025 resulted in the initiation of 4 anti-dumping investigations and the imposition of final duties on imports into the GCC and the Kingdom from 4 different countries, contributing to protecting domestic industry from harm caused by dumped and subsidized imports, as well as preventing surges in imports.

The private sector also witnessed enhanced support from the Authority in accessing international markets through Saudi-foreign business councils. A total of 73 business councils had their chairpersons and

deputies appointed and approved, bringing the total number of Saudi-foreign joint business councils to approximately 104. This reflects the Authority’s strong belief in the vital role these councils play in achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and strengthening the Kingdom’s position in the global economy.

GAFT invites all interested parties to review the Annual Report, which includes all detailed information on achievements and future plans that will, God willing, further strengthen the Kingdom’s global trade position and fulfill its mandate. The report is available at the following link:
