Duties of the Department of Compliance, Policies and Quality:

 
 
 
 
 

  • Reviewing all reports, announcements and work issued by other departments in the TRD in order to ensure compliance and quality with the relevant laws and regulations.
  • Monitoring the implementation of the internal work policies among the departments and proposing necessary improvements and amendments therein.
  • Providing technical and legal advice to government entities, authorities and institutions in trade remedies related matters in coordination with other concerned departments.
  • Proposing laws, regulations, and amendments concerning trade remedies in Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
  • Participating in the preparation of reports and analytical and statistical data on trade remedies and other administrative work in coordination with other departments.  
  • Providing technical and legal opinion on legislations and regulations presented by different entities in matters related to trade remedies.
  • Providing consultations and opinion on matters related to trade remedies in the WTO including the Rules Negotiations, and in the League of Arab States and other international and regional organizations.
  • Participating in preparing the negotiating stance/position for the Kingdom and providing technical assistance related to trade remedies when negotiating bilateral, regional and multilateral agreements. 
  • Supervising the preparation of a physical and digital archiving system for confidential and non-confidential documents and data of the investigations, and creating an auditing and tracking data system for authorized employees or concerned parties dealing with confidential and non-confidential data.
  • Receiving and studying grievances from the concerned parties in coordination with the legal department in GAFT until a decision is made therein by the authoritative person.
  • Participating in defending the interests of the GAFT in the Administrative Court regarding the decisions of imposing trade remedies measures in coordination with the legal department of GAFT.
  • Coordinating with Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority to develop work procedures for information gathering, monitoring and obtaining in cooperation with other departments.
  • Participating in workshops and events related to trade remedies presented to the Saudi entities and Saudi industry, or external entities in coordination with other departments of the Authority.
  • Supervising and coordinating training and work development for trade remedies employees whether inside or outside the Kingdom in cooperation with the competent departments of the Authority.
  • Supervising and coordinating the operation and development of the Trade Remedies Electronic System (“TRES"). ​
