The General Authority of Foreign Trade held a trade remedies investigations field workshop representative by trade remedies deputyship for its members, on Monday 3 Muharram 1444 A.H corresponding 1 August 2022. Presented by lawyer Yves Melin, an international expert in the trade remedies field.
The workshop aims to improve the employee’s efficiency in learning trade remedies subjects (Anti-Dumping Convention, the Support and Countervailing Measures Convention, Prevention agreement).
The Deputyship of Trade Remedies supervises preventing and protecting the local industry from harm caused by dumped, subsidized, and increased imports. In addition, it defends the kingdom’s exports that are exposed to trade remedies measures. Moreover, enhances the competitiveness of national products, attracts investments, establishes new industries, and increases job opportunities. Which contributes to achieving the Kingdom's goals of vision 2030.
It is responsible for various tasks. Most importantly defending the Kingdom's exports that are exposed to trade remedies investigations. Providing essential technical assistance for Kingdom’s exporters to defend their interests. Representing the Kingdom in local and global litigation procedures in cases related to trade remedies. And offering all consultancy and awareness for the public and private sectors.
It is worth mentioning that the General Authority of Foreign Trade aims in enhancing the gains of the Kingdom’s global trade and defends its interests in foreign trade fields which contributes to developing its national economy. The authority governing council includes 17 members from the public and private sectors.
