His Excellency Mr. Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al-Harbi the Governor of the General Authority of Foreign Trade, met with the heads of Saudi Foreign Business Councils, in the presence of H.E Mr. Ajlan Al-Ajlan the chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce, and H.E Mr. Mishaal bin Moqbel Al-Moqbel the Deputy Governor for Private Sector Affairs and Global Presence, on Thursday, May 26, 2022.
This meeting is among regular meetings of the authority with joint business councils to discuss the performance, plans, work programs, and achievements of the Saudi foreign business councils. Also, the most significant challenges and suggested solutions of it which is within the authority's objectives and priorities to enhance partnership with the private sector and enable it to reach foreign markets.
During the meeting, plans and work programs of the Saudi foreign business councils, most prominent achievements, and development opportunities were reviewed. In addition, the objectives and role of the Saudi commercial attachés and services that can be provided to empower the Saudi private sector were also examined. The meeting provided an opportunity to participate in the International Chamber of Commerce to review a brief of the Chamber and its objectives.
The obstacles and challenges facing the Saudi private sector within the joint Saudi foreign business councils were discussed in the meeting. Also, suggested solutions, and an implementation plan and mechanism to address them as well as the next steps.
It is worth noting that the joint Saudi foreign business councils are joint gatherings that include representatives from the business sector in the Kingdom and their counterparts in other countries, who have investments or commercial operations from counterpart countries, which are supervised by the authority, and the number of which is 26 bilateral and regional business councils.
