The Governor of the General Authority of Foreign Trade, Mr. Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al-Harbi, lauded the decision of the GCC Standing Committee for Combating Harmful Practices in International Trade to start achieving a safeguard against the increase in the GCC imports of certain iron products, issued by the Office of the Technical Secretariat of the GCC States.
Al-Harbi stressed that this decision would protect the local industry and curb damages to it, thus contributing to achieving fair trade. The investigation comes in light of the unexpected circumstances of the increase in imports of some iron products to the Gulf markets and the preventive measures of some countries of the world against their iron product imports.
