The Chairman of the Saudi Negotiating Team and the Acting Chairman of GCC's Negotiating Team His Excellency Mr. Fareed bin Saeed Al-Asaly, Headed the third round of the Free Trade Agreement Negotiations between the GCC and the United Kingdom which lasted for five days, starting from Sunday 12 March 2023 until Thursday 16 March 2023.
Both sides sought to enhance and develop their trade and investment relationship through 32 technical discussion sessions, with the participation of nearly 200 specialists in the negotiating round in various fields which Include trade in goods & service sectors, digital trade, investment promotion, support small- medium enterprises (SME) sector, as well as improving the business environment, supporting cooperation in the fields of innovation, empowering women, combating harmful practices in international trade, and other sectors with common interest.
His Excellency Mr. Fareed bin Saeed Al-Asaly expressed on his part , his satisfaction with the progress of the discussions between both sides, noting that these agreements come in implementation of the directives of their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC countries, to enhance the status of the Council and support its strategic relations with its partners around the world. The agreement being negotiated will contribute to enhancing joint gains, stimulating economic, commercial & investment growth to the GCC countries, supporting entrepreneurship and enhancing business sectors in the GCC countries, which will reflect on their countries and peoples with further growth and well-being.
