Head a Saudi delegation from public and private sectors, held bilateral meetings with a group of ministers

Al-Kassabi meets Prime minister of Bangladesh, participates in Bangladesh Business Summit

His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Foreign Trade, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Kassabi participated in Bangladesh Business Summit 2030, during his official visit to the capital Dhaka, which lasted for two days 10 - 11 March 2023.


During his participation in the opening session, he stressed that the Republic of Bangladesh is an important trading partner of the Kingdom and that this visit comes to strengthen the partnership between the two countries, calling on Saudi businessmen to build a strong relationship with their counterparts and explore multiple investment opportunities.

 

Al-Kassabi headed the kingdom's delegation, which included officials from: Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Environment, Water & Agriculture, Ministry of Industry & Mineral Resources, Ministry of Investment, Public Investment Fund, Saudi Fund for Development, Saudi EXIM Bank, National Industrial Development Center, National Center for Palms & Dates, Federation of Saudi Chambers. From the private sector side the companies representatives of: SABIC, ACWA POWER, Red Sea Gate Station Company Limited, Maaden, Al Bawani Company, Geometric Dimension, Islamic Bank of Bangladesh, Nazli Company for Hajj and Umra, ASIA HOTELS, ALHORAISH TRADING, Camel Gate for Logistics Services, Dolce Coffee, Amal Al-Hayat Real Estate, Home Table SA, Bright Line, AL-Qadi Holding Group, Nafaf Company, and Mohammed Al-Ali Al-Suwailem Group. Discussing with their counterparts from the Republic of Bangladesh ways of cooperation in all sectors especially the commercial sector, to explore and create new opportunities between the two countries. 

He held bilateral meetings with her Excellency the Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed, His Excellency the Minister of Commerce of Bangladesh Mr. Tebu Munshi, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh Mr. Abul kalam Abdul Momen, His Excellency the Adviser of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for Trade, Industry and Investment for the Private Sector Mr. Salman Fazlur Rahman, His Excellency the Minister of Justice Mr. Anisul Huq, His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mr.Zunaid Palak , His Excellency the Minister of Energy Mr. Nasr Al-Humaid, and His Excellency the President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industries Mr. Mohammed Jashim Uddin.


The visit included a field visit to the BIXMCO Industrial Park to know about Bangladesh's work and approaches in various fields.

 

The visit witnessed the signing of four agreements valued at 6.3 billion riyals in the fields of energy, industry, agriculture and infrastructure.

 

The Saudi-Bangladeshi Business Forum was held on the sidelines of the visit; taking part in it were twenty Saudi and sixty Bangladeshi companies for cooperation partnerships, and to stimulate private sector investment between the two countries.
