Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council holds its 5th session tomorrow in Jeddah

Jeddah will host tomorrow on Thursday, 25 May 2023 the 5th session of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council meeting.

Holding the 5th session of the Council is an extension of the joint efforts to strengthen and develop brotherly bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the brotherly Republic of Iraq at strategic level and to open new horizons for cooperation in various fields.

The Saudi side in the Council is headed by His Excellency Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-kassabi, while the Iraqi side is headed by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Mohammed Ali Tamim. Their Highnesses and Excellencies members of the Council from both Saudi and Iraqi sides and the heads of its sub-committees will participate in the meetings.

During the meetings, the Coordination Council is scheduled to discuss the joint work plan of the sub-committees of the Council in various fields of bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom and Iraq to support and enhance it in order to serve the interests of both brotherly countries and peoples in different fields.

On the sidelines of the 5th session of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council, the joint business council meeting between both countries and the Saudi-Iraqi Economic Forum will be held in the presence of a number of businessmen from both countries.

The Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council was established in 2017 in order to enhance communication between both countries at strategic level and to raise bilateral relations to new horizons in various fields, including economy, development, security, investment, tourism, cultural and media, in addition to enhancing joint cooperation between both sides in important international and regional affairs, safeguarding common interests and developing partnership between the private sectors in both countries.​​

The Council also aims to provide the opportunity for businessmen from both countries to learn about trade and investment opportunities, adopt effective means to help them invest, and encourage the exchange of technical expertise among the concerned authorities by transferring and encouraging technology, cooperation in the field of scientific research, exchanging visits and participating in training programs.​
