Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade organizes workshop in collaboration with World Trade Organization

​​ The Authority of Foreign Trade representative by the Deputyship of International Organizations and Agreements organized a workshop about trade related investment measures agreement (TRIMs) and investment facilitation for development initiative (IFD). With the participation of several related government agencies, which was presented by a group of international experts in WTO. On Wednesday and Thursday corresponding to 14 – 15 September 2022.

​​ The workshop aimed to maximizing the Kingdom’s benefit from international organizations, developing the government agencies competent’s abilities through introducing trade related investment measures agreement obligations and progressing the negotiations of investment facilitation initiative for development under WTO.

​​ In addition, it intended to gain more technical expertise and knowledge for the agreement, initiative, and work of WTO in this regard. Furthermore, to know Kingdom’s obligations towards other countries in the trade agreements and WTO and to see the best practices and experiences of other countries.

​​ His Excellency the Deputy Governor of the Authority for International Organizations and Conventions, Mr. Fareed S. Alasaly pointed out that the Kingdom is seeking to enhance its international relations with world countries and international organizations, also its international presence in the foreign trade field to ensure achieving shared objectives and sustainable development, and developing various activities by believing and appreciating of Kingdom’s leading role in all international forums.

​​ It is worth noting that the Authority is working to enhance and maximize its benefit from the international organizations and agreements, enable imports access to global markets, reduce the obstacles the Authority face, and highlight Kingdom’s efforts and achievements in the trade field through its participation in the international event.
