The General Authority for Foreign Trade held a workshop "Aligned with the Attachés" with the commercial attaché in Malaysia, that covers the Republic of Indonesia, at the Authority's headquarters in Riyadh, with the participation of the Ambassador of the Kingdom to Indonesia, Mr. Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amoudi, and some related entities.
It aims to align the objectives of the Authority with its key partners, support the Saudi private sector and review the opportunities, and unite efforts among the relevant entities.
The workshop also discusses Indonesia's economic situation until 2050, with the participation of the Saudi negotiating team; to explore the trade opportunities for cooperation between the Saudi Arabia and Indonesian within the framework of the Free Trade Agreement, and to know the targets of the public and private sector. The first round of GCC will be held with Indonesia during the month of September, and it will focuses on goods, investment, services and digital trade.
Malaysia's commercial attaché covers many East Asian countries as Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Viet Nam, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. Working with those countries to strengthen trade relations by enhancing Saudi Arabia's non-oil export access; to open new markets in Asian and attract foreign investment to the Kingdom.
The workshops are part of the Authority's efforts to facilitate the work of the private sector and relevant authorities through the services provided by the trade attachés and GAFT's deputyships and departments.
